Founded in 2010, New Direction Community Theater was created to provide entertainment and acting opportunities for all ages in addition to serving as a local hub for thespians and audience members interested in an intimate theater-going experience. Our mission and purpose is to enrich, educate and entertain our Calvert County Community by providing a quality, live theater experience for all ages. Along with traditional shows, we offer one children’s show annually for our young actors and audiences.
Before landing in our current performance space, productions have been held at the College of Southern Maryland (Prince Frederick), Adam’s Ribs (Dinner Theater), and St. Paul UMC. We have partnered with local community organizations for fundraising events and regularly contribute to local fundraising efforts/events. We currently rehearse in various locations between Solomons and Prince Frederick while offering 3 main stage shows a year at the Long Beach Community Center in St. Leonard.
